Building the Bianchi

Some progress on the Super Pista.

I’ve already got a pair of MKS Sylvan Track pedals. The Feather will be relinquishing the HED 3 front clincher, and for now I’ll use the B43 / Paul rear that I already have until I can build a fixed/fixed (12T/16T) wheel specifically for the new frame.

So, rounding out the rest of the components. I placed two orders yesterday. One with City Grounds for my stem and seatpost:

And another with TrackSuperMarket:

On Monday I rode out to east Danforth and picked up these really great Cinelli Pista drop bars from an older gentleman who’s building a fixed gear for his daughter.

The biggest remaining things are the King nothreadset, Selle Italia Flite 1990, MKS clips and straps. And - believe me, I know - the frameset. I’m still struggling with buying local here in Toronto or ordering online. Dealers here are selling it at 25% markup, which is frustrating, but eliminates a significant amount of hassle and potential brokerage fees.

If only the mail would hurry up.

I’m building this. I was going to post a component list, but it’s still in ever-changing mode. Stay tuned.

Effective Yesterday: Rides Errday.

It’s more or less summer in Toronto now, so there are a few new rules to my life.

Monday through Saturday: 25 km minimum
Sunday: 60 km minimum

Rain and shit is gonna suck, so I’m in the market for an indoor trainer like a CycleOps.

Hit me up if you’re in the GTA and want to ride.
