A lot of people have asked for my take on The New York Times piece yesterday about the true cost of making Apple products in China. Let me first just say that it’s an important piece full of good reporting by Charles Duhigg and David Barboza. Parts of it are very sad — sickening, really.

Tim Cook: Phone market isn’t a two-horse race, ‘there’s a horse in Redmond that always runs’

Apple CEO Tim Cook was just on the phone with analysts talking about Apple’s monster quarterly results, and he had some interesting words to say about Microsoft: asked if the phone market was now a two-horse race between iOS and Android, Cook said that “There’s a horse in Redmond that always suits up and always runs, and will keep running.”

First on Chrome, now on iOS. One can only hope that this clearly talented company will be taking a stab at Android soon, because these apps are fantastic.
